What the Snail Teaches Us About Change, Courage, and Narrative
Like a snail, you can only move forward by stepping out of your home.
That step happens not when you dwell in the why not, but when you begin to ask why yes.
In the rain—in adversity—the snail moves faster.
Because it is in those moments of a challenege and adversity that the biggest shifts take place.
Yes, it may be at a slower pace,
and yet, it is the focus on the next right step—
the right move—that brings change and accomplishment.
This focus is rooted within us—within our narrative—
to drive constructive shift, both within and without.
So shift from fear-based to possibility-based thinking.
Redirect your life by rewriting your story—
a story rooted in the power of perspective and the art of narrative reframing.
Prayer
May we step out of the shell,
and persevere in light of challenge—
by practicing patience,
and being present during the slow times,
the resistant times,
and the challenging times.
And may we turn our limiting beliefs into enabling ones,
so that we can change and evolve—
by focusing on the next right thing,
until we reach what we were made to become.
(Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 37:7, Romans 12:2, James 1:12)
